Call for Papers

Humor under Authority

We are requesting collaborations for a volume on Humor under Authority, which will be published on Hispanic Issues On Line (HIOL), Editor-in-Chief: Nicholas Spadaccini. We are aware that the notion of authority can be understood in multiple fashions; for that reason, an assortment of treatments is anticipated. We are seeking papers that deal with this topic, involving languages and cultures originated in the Iberian Peninsula (Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, Galician, Basque, etc.), wherever in the world they are spoken nowadays (the Americas, Africa, etc.). The authors may examine the subject from any field or theoretical approach, and may cover any time period.

HIOL is an open-access, refereed scholarly electronic publication devoted to the study of Hispanic and Lusophone cultures. The journal aims to be an international forum for the analysis of current issues in our disciplines, as well as a venue for new research.

The papers should have a length of 15-20 pages, and be written in English using the MLA Style Manual.

The deadline for submission is February 15, 2019.

You may email the manuscript to us
